Since when? The old Kia Sephia GS uses the 94-97 Miata's 1.8...which is also in a 90's Protege and Ford Escort GT. Several other motors they used have Ford bellhousing patterns as well as small Ford/Mazda motors.

Eomund, not quite. Newer Ford motors aren't bad since 90% of them come from Mazda. Mustang and some truck motors being the exception...as they're all horribly made...by Ford.
