drift4life's pignose coupe restoration. (ka24de-R coming soon)
well i guess now that i've got some money i can really get started on my car.
CAR:
1990
240sx coupe
sohc
5spd
193k miles
MODS:
dohc swap. (unsure i might just rebuild my sohc)
agx adjustable struts (will replace later with coilovers)
well this doesn't seem like much but its gonna be a low $ project.
PICS:

^ that was my faught
i bought the car for $2500. the pictures dont do the body or interior justice. they both are very clean. and those are the only reason i paid that much for it. clean 240's seem hard to come by.
i will try to keep this updated but due to lack of money flow i might not be able to keep the project moving as planned.

Looks good, man! Looks like my car, but mine is a hatch. I got mine with the front lip, too!
When are you planning to do the DOHC swap?
I am on a low budget build, too. I am not plannin much for it, I just want to do what I can the right way the first time. Hope you can do the same.
Update this thread when you can.

yea biggamehit it is a homemade paint booth. we turned half of our my garage into one. vbmenu_register("postmenu_1018530", true);
thanks guys!!! i had to go with suspension first due to i want to autox in it. and my stock struts and springs were toast. there was no oil in the strut anymore just air.
plan on buying a ka24de probably in the next couple of weeks. i'm gonna do a slight rebuild( just replacing bearings, port and polish, and cylinder hone)
from wat i've heard from everybody the best exhaust to get when ur on a budget is the ebay catbacks. and i plan on getting a obx header and a high flow cat.

why the dohc swap its less than 20hp, its also more work than say... an lsd or welded diff... just curious

the reason i was thinking of doing a dohc swap is because my engine is far from reliable. with 194,000ml on it. and im gonna weld a spare diff for drifting but keep my open for autox
i have actually decided to rebuild my sohc with
10.5:1 compression pistons
a 270 cam from comp cams
a complete rebuilt head off of ebay
a gasket and bearing kit
do a mild port and polish to both intake mani and head and gasket match them.
and hopefully if i have any money left i wanna put some itb's on it.
(im not sure if im gonna be able to do the itb's or if i would rather spend my money on somthing different)
