i'm planing on swaping a l28 moptor out of a 1978 280z and are wondering if there is someone who has done the swap and knows what tranny i can use that fits best. also i can't relly find any engine parts that can hold twin turbos and not blow up (forged internals). any advice will help.
i' seen the z store, however i'm mainly looking for a crank and light weight rods. i've heard the ld28 crak is ok but i' ve only ever heard of it used in a stroker set up. as for rods i have yet to see any lkight weight ir forged rods to use wirth the ld28 and keep thew 2.8l
Well... no. The L28 crank was made to stroke the L24 to 2.8L. Your question is more of an answer in itself. You can use the L24 crank to de-stroke it... but then you need the L24 internals... which means you might as well get an L24.

i know the l28 crank was used to stroke the 240 motor but is the ld28 crank that came out of the deisel motor the same dimmensions as the 128 non deisel.i whant the ld28 crank because it is alot stronger and is less pron to twist under an extreme load like twin turbos or alcohol injection.
I promise you the L28 crank isn't going to twist under TT operation. You will destroy a cap or bearing or piston or rod or head gasket before you do that.

Google is your friend, for sure. I would just give Eagle a call, and give CP a call for pistons, get Clevite bearings, keep the stock crank. You should be set from there, although a TT setup would be worthless on this engine, the L design is awful for turbo. If you want a TT setup to put down power get an RB.

This is pretty much the advice to solve the thread.
