I went ahead and created an account here as I've seen a lot of useful information, and I am anticipating buying an S13 240sx hatch sometime in the future. I am a computer engineering major at Mississippi State University. I'm currently driving a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE (automatic transmission) with more issues than I can count on my fingers. It belongs to my dad though, so there's not much I can do about it, other than get myself a vehicle.
All-in-all, I'm currently trying to learn more about cars as I'm pretty inexperienced with anything more than the basics: changing fluids and removing wheels when I have a flat.
It's going to be a daily driver, but as for any mods/work done on it, I'm sure it's a lot of the usual I see for DDs:
-new swaybars
-strut-tower braces
-new bushings
-coilovers and new control arms as needed
-probably a new set of lightweight alloy wheels
-eventually a turbo and upgraded catback
-learn to ECU tune (I'm a computer engineering major, so hex code and assembly is not unfamiliar with me)
-once I'm done spending money on performance related things, I might get a cooler looking set of tailights and such (I've seen a set that looks stock, but is clear on the bottom instead of amber, and I like how it looks)
-might get it painted a long time off in the future... the front bumper of the particular car I'm looking at buying has a little paint scraped off, but is still structurally sound
Forgot to add that I was also considering doing a z32 brake swap and possibly trying to get a viscous limited slip differential to swap into it.
As I said, this is just going to be a daily driver, I don't necessarily intend to go all out for drifting in it. Since it will be doing DD duty, I want to avoid going the welded dif route.
