There's a bunch of threads out there with partial information so I figured I throw together a quick DIY of how to wire up your fog lights.
First, locate the harness that plugged into the factory pop-up motors and splice it open. Inside you'll find a bunch of wires, the ones you're going to be concerned with are the
BROWN and the
Black. They should be pretty thick.
Now, go down to Auto-Zone and pick up some connectors and wire up as shown below.
and
There are 2 pop-up harnesses (duh), 1 for each side so you'll have to splice twice. Make sure you get insulated connectors as you dont want the leads to short (blow a fuse).
With the way its currently wired, your pop-up light switch to the left of the steering wheel will turn the lights on and off, however. Every time you turn your headlights on all the way, your fogs will come on too no matter how many times you press that button to get them to turn off. Why? Think when you had your pop-ups, would it really make sense to be able to turn your lights on then have them go back down and stay on? Its the same circuit, we just have a different device hooked up.
Solution? Go around to the passenger side of the car and locate this box:
This box contains relays/fuses. We're concerned with the one the arrow is pointing to.
Open up the box and pull the relay.
Mine is already gone, but the arrow shows where it was.
Now when you press your pop-up switch, you can turn your fogs on and off, no matter if your headlights are on or not. Just remember to turn them off when you're done.
