I am using AEMPro on an S13 SR20DET. I also have AEM's UEGO sensor and gauge. The power and ground wires for the gauge are connected to the EMS. Will connecting the white analog output wire to the EMS have an affect on the engine's performance? In other words, will the EMS begin to use this air/fuel ratio as a factor in calculating injector or ignition outputs? Is there any setup required within the AEMPro software? I'm fairly new to this system and hope someone can offer some guidance. Thank you!
It's not gonna make any changes to your Cal unless you start doing AutoTune.
If not then it's just gonna be a parameter for it to read in Closed Loop and Datalogging.
Can you elaborate on that please? I don't know what AutoTune is. And is the AEM system designed to operate in open-loop and calculate air/fuel based only on the MAP sensor? Is there a way to run the engine in closed-loop?
Oh my you have a lot of reading to do my good sir.
MAP sensor is used for Load Determination.
Wideband is used to show your AFR and that's it.
The EMS does EVERYTHING.
You tell it weather to stay open-loop or to use closed-loop.
An EMS is not something to play with, it can and it will blow your setup to nothing if used improperly.
Yes, I agree that this system is foreign to me. I will be learning as much as I can without actually making adjustments to the program. But as I understood your last reply, the air/fuel output can be input to the EMS and create a closed-loop operation? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, pls do as it's a very powerful and feature packed EMS.
