S14 Window problem (already searched and learned)

Ok, first off, its for my s14, so i searched and did find a good deal of info about what might be the wrong with my driverside window when only the passenger side works, either the amp is fried (and i;ll need to solder the board back together, or ill need to replace to motor). but heres the problem, when searching, i found two answers to my question, heres the question

1. I hear a clicking inside the amp, but no action from the driverside window, and at first when reading, a guy said " if it (amp) clicks, then the motor is dead", and then i read another topic, and geist said "if you hear a clicking form the amp and no movement, you need to solder the connection back together". so basically, i got one guy saying,

...A. if it clicks, its the motor thats bad,

...B. and the other guy (geist) says that if it clicks, the amp is just messed up and has to be soldered

So which is it, is it my amp, or my motor, like i said, my amp clicks, but no action on the D-side

miked808 is on a distinguished road
Apply 12v directly to the two leads coming off of the power window motor that will tell you if your motor is working or not.
