Rear Quarter Window???

Alright, my rear quarter window on the driver's side of the car is broken and went and managed to pull one out. Now I'm stuck and need some help. Does anyone know how to install a new window? I was just thinking to buy windshield glue and hold it there for a while until it stuck, is this ok?

remove all the old glue with a blade, windshield glue is good, make sure it's aligned properly, then apply a bit of pressure and then put some duct tape along the glass, but make sure it doesn't rain or keep it indoors, for a couple of hours

Awesome dude, thats what I thought. How long till I'd be able to drive it? I don't want the wind to rip it out while I'm driving?

WTF!!! Are we talking about the same broken window? I paid $16 for the one I got from the junk yard, and i figured with materials this fix isn't going to cost more than $30. Is that $700 for Lexan? Cause you'll probably save live 5 lbs of weight a window. I don't think it'd be worth the extra cash, you can fix up your car to be a lot faster with $700 and those 5-10 lbs wouldn't make a difference.

Uh, i have checked every junk yard within 200 miles of my house and called every glass business. No luck for me. Were talking about coupe windows right? The lexan ones are a lot cheaper. And at this point, pretty much everything on my car is done. Just redo areo and paint at this point.

Oh man, well mine's a hatch, and the window you see in my sig is the one that got broken and needs replacing. And those are a lot smaller, I can't believe they cost more. Do you have to replace both or just one?

Fucking both of them. I figured you where talking about a hatch. I have a hatch in my garage with perfect glass. Hell, if that was the case i would pick up some jdm tyte 180 qtr's. Hell, the junkyard had two hatch's with glass and they wanted 100 bucks for both of them. BULLSHIT

It's also shit cause hatch's glass is convex and coupes is just a flat piece. Figure that one out.

I don't know. We live in a wierd world. The more complicated window costs cheaper than the simpler window

Both the coupe and hatchback are curved tempered glass. If you've checked the prices on new glass you wouldn't complain about $100. for a used one. Lexan isn't legal for street use in any state, plus lexan doesn't stand up to weather and sun well, turns opaque in a few years. That doesn't matter to you being as it's only a side window, but it's a sure giveaway that it's not glass. If you wanted to go with the lexan, you can by a sheet big enough to cut you own for about $50.00, cut it with a very fine tooth jig saw, it's flexible enough to bend to the curves you need.

Uh, i was being sarcastic about it ONLY costing 100 bucks for hatch glass. I already knew lexan wasn't street legal, but that really doesn't matter since my whole car is not legal for the streets. Pretty much like every 240 on this forum. And the coupes glass barely has any curve to it all.

If you put tint on the lexan it wouldn't stand out nearly as bad for what it is. I know most on this board have some little small features on their cars that wouldn't pass for road legal, but as long as you don't have loud pipes or drive like a idiot you'll probably get by. The problem with lexan is after about a year the sun gets to it and you can tell from 50 feet it's not glass. Some cop wearing his glasses might just notice, and stop you just to see what else he can find. But tint on the lexan might hide that plastic look.
