Cold air intake on a Ka24e

Hi, I am very new to mechanics and I would like to ask a few questions...
I would like to install a cold air intake on my ka24e but I can't find any DIY tutorials, the closest thread I found was http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/162395 but this is for the S14 and it is for the Ka24de, I'm not sure if I can use that CAI and tutorial on my ka24e as they are different engines. I have also tried searching for CAI for ka24e on forums, ebay, etc. but I can't find any for the ka24e, I was wondering the ka24de CAI intake will fit on my ka24e? I would appreciate it if someone sent me some links to DIY tutorials and some answers will be very helpful!

the de doesnt really fit the e. the angle where the pipe goes to the throttle body doesn't match and it wont fit, so you'll need either a little custom piping, or find one for the e.. but i wouldn't get a cold air extension. if you suck water your done

The KA-E is kind of the forgotten engine, yes stuff is available, but nowhere near the extent of the DE. You could modify a DE CAI to fit on the E but you would be better to get a custom bent piece done like I plan to have done here in a month or so, or order the injen one. Like mike said before me, don't get the long one that goes down in the fender area unless your car can run on water.

Ahh I see, I wanted to do some mods on my e because I don't plan on getting a sr or de swap until my e blows

you don't need the full pipe. Just keep the stock piping and clean it real good. Then change the OEM filter for a cone filter. K&N makes a good re-usable one. Much cheaper and just as effective. Plus it's better on the eyes.

eh... i prefered the metal piping since -

a. it doesn't have those flexi bumpi bends that create a lot of air turbulence
b. those flexi bumpi bends also hide a lot of vacuum leak problems
c. if you remove your fan shroud for a e-fan it's a pain in the ass to mount the oem and will sag
d. it is on the exhaust side of the motor = fail

heres mine just incase

Thanks for the reply guys. I am going with sleeperhits set up because its much cheaper than the injen one, the problem is I can't find the right maf adapter with both hose pipe adapter and IAT sensor. I found some with only the hose pipe adapter, can I leave the IAT sensor unplugged or ziptie it somewhere?
