Timing Chain Guide

Hey I have a KA24DE DOHC in a Nissan hard body truck and it just started to make a ticking noise from the front of the engine but not all the time? I was reading a forum where you can take out a chain guide? If anyone has more info on that removal or any other input on what could cause this noise please share thankyou. I have rulled out injectors and pulleys.

Remove upper and driver side guides, clean tensioner if needed, move to thicker oil (I went from 10w30 to 15w50).

15w-50 is 100% win. I've been using that in my SOHC for years.

yes the loose cam gears are to be worried about they need to be tightend if they are not it will seriousely mess up timing and possible break the chains so just take a few minutes and tighten them to torque specs
