Good turbo for ka24e-t project?

Here's the link, seems like a nice turbo:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...923603708&rd=1

Here's another one I was considering:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...923630013&rd=1

Lastly, can anyone tell me what size is good for a fmic for our car, specifically the pignose?

me and my friend just turboed his ka this weekend and i have to say that if i was doing this, i would buy the same fmic he did. on ebay search for intercooler. look for the one that the buy it now price is $217.99. its made my mishimoto and is 24.5x12x3. thats plenty big and its really cheap. we were a little worried about the quality but when it came in it looked really nice! the welds were done well and now that the car is running, it performs very well. as far as which turbo, i don't really know. he rebuilt a t25 and used it. he got the turbo from a friend for $10, bought a rebuild kit off of ebay for $90 and now its almost good as new. really really fast spool!

im looking for between 200 and 250 whp, would I be better to go with a t3/t4 hybrid straight t3, or a t25. That first turbo I listed is super cheap, may have to pick it up if it stays that low, but I see a ton of t25's floating around. I always got the impression that they were a little small.

they would need a t25/t28 manifold. like the stock sr20det (that is the stock turbo)

hook me up with where you seen them. i'm looking for one. I currently waiting for a guy to reply for a t25 for $150

Also does anyone know if that t3/t4 hybrid turbo would be a good buy?

T3/T4 is a good buy, just more expensive. but if you have the money, why not. I like the t25 just cuz i want to be able to use the sr20det crap.

also i'm banned form zilvia. haha. fucking homos.

anyway, i bought my turbo last night. T25 from an sr20det for 150 shipped.

Nice man. What do u mean itll be more expensive? Im looking to do this whole sha bang for cheap. As in 1000-1500. How will the t3/t4 increase this price, especially if the turbo is only like 100 bucks? Also, I havent found a t25/t28 manifold for the ka24e, but i have found a t3/t4 manifold for it for 450.

oh, well most of the turbos i have seen are brand new turbos. if you buy a used one i guess it's the same price. more potential depending on the specs of the turbo:

seen here http://www.turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php
a garret t3/t4 60 trim .63 turbine housing cost $579. and this one is used.

which imo is an awesome price for that turbo.

here are some of the cheapest turbos out
http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gartur.html

very very good prices. but if you find them for 100, either its sucks (the specs) or it's broke. my friend bought one from another friend for 250 and it was broke. but his turbo was good for like 400whp.

so it's a decision you have to make. my turbo is only good for 250 and 300 if i push it to the limit (but won't) I'll go with a big T28 or an S15 T28, but most likely the big t28.

Bro, check out my first post, the first link to the t3/t4 turbo, here's the description for your lazy ass lol j/p:

This is a garret t3/t4 turbo. This unit has a t04e 50 trim compressor housing and a 63 a/r 5 bolt turbine housing. The turbo has been freshly rebuilt so it is like new with no shaft play or end play. I had the turbine side of this turbo extrude honed and ceramic coated for super fast spoolup and increased horse power. The compressor has been powder coated for that one off show look. You can search high and low and won’t find a better turbo than this one. feel free to ask any questions.

I know about the jgs ones, but I have no tools to finish it, no welding, no cutting. I just want a straight finished ka24e manifold. Ill check out the revhard ones. I think theres also a guy on here or club240.com that makes them.

u can take it to a muffler shop after you measure, and you don't have a hack saw? are you sure you are ready to mod a car?

I have a hack saw, I'm talking about cutting the hole for the flange, if that can be done with only a hacksaw, then fine. I am perfectly ready to mod my car, don't go judgeing me just cuz I'd rather buy a complete manifold so that I can feel that it was done right.

i'm not judging, i was asking. why are you getting defensive? are you guilty of something?

i'm sure you just want a ka manifold already assembled, but your search didn't find one right? i guess you will just be NA if you can't find what you are looking for and can't figure out how to get the log style welded up, or cut (like that is really very hard).

I can find a complete manifold, I was simply saying I'd rather get a complete one, then have to fabricate one myself and I was hoping there were other options, considering the one I found is $450. Maybe you are good enough with cars that you're comfortable fabricating your own parts, I'm not. That's all I was saying. It doesn't mean I'm going to stay NA or I'm not ready to turbo my car if I don't feel comfortable making my own parts. It may cost a bit more for a pre-fabricated one, but I consider that extra money well spent, one less thing I have to worry about.

i never said anything about my ability to fabricate my own parts, but the logical thing that one would do (considering you were thinking when you read about it) was to test fit the parts and mark them, and then have them welded by a welder. so now you have two options. jgs and what ever $450 manifold you found. you can also buy other turbo kits manifolds like nsport, fmax, greddy, that is if you can find them. i never looked. most manifolds are going to be for a t3 flange since that is the most poplular. but that sounds about right. 500 for a manifold. also you can look around for a custom one. plenty of options. just depends how deep your pockets are.

btw, my friend laid down 450whp on a JGS log manifold, on a KA powered S14.

Alright, I must have taken what you said the wrong way, damn internet, can't tell tone or anything lol. I'm jumping between this and homework at the moment so forgive me. I may consider the jgs tools manifold, I was just saying what I said based on looking at the site. Could very well be easier than it looks. Please keep all suggestions coming, you have been a great help so far.

here is a T25/T28 manifold from ss autochrome
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33632

it retains teh stock turbo location like the SR20det. that is really the only reason why i'm going with this one. I want to be able to use the charge pipes and downpipes for an SR20det. just the option I'm doing.
