ROUGH idle, and wont rev past 2k

I have a 95 DE-T. relevant mods: t25 turbo, safc-II, blow through mafs, SR injectors.

Today I was driving and felt a little sputter around 4.5 grand, and then it was fine. Got to my destination, turned car off etc. Came back out, and drove about 1/4 mile and the car just died. I could still start it back up, but it would idle super rough, and only rev to about 2k, and sometimes just die. I played around with the mafs, checked the wiring, tightened all I/C piping clamps, and still the same thing. After a while it just started working again, so I drove about 100 feet , and it died again. Then I just unplugged the mafs, ran the car, plugged it back in, and it was fine and drove all the way home. Replaced the old o-rings on my injectors with the new stock SR o-rings. I then drove about 5 miles, running great, and all of a sudden it died again and idles rough. This is where I'm stuck now.

So basically: Rough Idle, wont rev past 2k, intermittent problem.
This just started happening out of the blue, today. I havent had any issues like this since I put the turbo on, about 3 months ago.

What do you guys think?

your maf might be telling you that its time to change it out...or there is a wiring harness problem. signs that you stated tell me its your maf or IC piping.

the wiring has been bugging me. Right now i have the wires connected with wire-nuts, but I am going to solder them tonight. Its been raining for 3 straight days here an I wonder if those splices got wet and started acting up?

I'd love to throw in another mafs, but I gotta find someone to sell me one. I doubt I can find any local, im in Milwaukee, WI

I've a Z32 TT MAF if you wanna snatch it, PM me.

Sounds like your ECU is going into limp mode, I'd agree that it does indeed sound like an issue with the MAF.

wont rev past 2k is a MAF issue. Either its dead or the wiring is fucked.

Rough Idle is common on KA's, could be excessively rough due to a vaccum leak or the maf is too close to the TB, or the orings but you fixed that possibility.

alright well today i soldered everything, i had wirenuts on all the mafs stuff. I wanted to make sure it was wired correctly before I finalized it. I'm hoping it was just moisture getting into the wires/nuts, arcing or something. I drove about 5-10 miles so far after soldering, and its been fine since.

We'll see if it holds up.

I also mounted a Fire Extinguisher in my trunk incase my amazing wiring skills fail me.

nothing bad wil happen to it unless u taped up everything good so the wires arent tuching but my car was doing the same thing till i decided to move the wires around the maf then found the problem i guess the pervious owner had cut the wires or something so i soldered everything n works perfect planning on switching it to a z32 maf anyways going turbo
