I know I'm going to catch pages of flames for this, so I'll go ahead and admit that the velocity my vehicle was travelling at was a bit outside of the safety margin.
~110 mph. Curvy road that I normally do this wacky hijink on. I encountered water. Lost rear traction. Spun. Slid sideways over curb. Took out a 3 foot by 2 foot concrete base for a huge street light, and the street light too. Took out a few trees. Rolled a few times. Opened the driver's side door, walked away unharmed.
I must say it's pretty amazing that I was completely uninjured. The car is destroyed save for the two front seats. Thank god for the "excellent" crash test rating on my poor, deceased S13. I'll have another one some day.
I'll post pictures whenever I can get them.
Anyone else ever have an accident at over 100 and live to tell about it?
A friend of mine was driing down a road UNDER the speed limit and she caught black ice and slid into a ditch nose first and flipped out of it and hit her hood on a tree. The hood and fenders were all crunched in and the motor was out of its mounts, the valve cover was cracked.
She climbed out of the back window with only a cut on her hand.
Black ice sucks, hit some lastnight but made it through. slid all over it on a big curve and there were at least 10 cars in the ditch. I don't know how I made it but im not going to complain.
At least you walked away, and admit you were being a bit unsafe. No one got hurt, well poor car, but as long as you learned from it. I dont see a reason to get flammed for it... We all have our moments
Everyone has at least one stupid moment. Try to learn something from it.
Fifteen years or so ago, I was on a country road in my Z, driving too fast. I came up behind a van that was moving around 10 mph below the speed limit. So, being stupid and 16, I passed him.
Unfortunately, he was going slow because he was about to make a left turn.
I swung wide and missed him, but got a little too much English on the return. I soon found myself off the road, pointing perpendicular to it, sliding parallel to the road on my frame rails along an embankment. When I finally came to a stop, all four wheels were in the air. I was fine and, surprisingly, the car was only mangled a little bit.
It felt rotten seeing my car today. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend, but I had to see it in such dismal shape. I could have sat in that broken drivers' seat for days, silent...
Sorry to hear it man. Just glad to hear ur okay. I did somethin like that but I was only doing 60 in a turn and overcorrected when I came out and the car slid across the road and hit 3 trees. The entire trunk wrapped around a tree and so did the front passenger fender. TOTALED! It broke my heart. But there will be another S14. O yes... There will be another!
good to hear your alright. Like K car said learn from it. I remember totalling my first car that I bought. Stupid act on me and I'm lucky I didn't hurt any of my friends. Be cool.

my buddy had a 02 Z28 lost it on a corner slid 70ft then airborne took out 5-7 trees and came to rest on drivers side up against a pine tree, rear tire was about halfway up inside vehicle where middlle of the ride side door is exhaust was in the trunk, and he alost literally took a Driver to the head, -- lets see what else lost the ass end of a 89 scort into a 5 ton rock and busted the axel, countless deer, i reaer ended a 64 chevy short box with a 96 breeze, 4,000 to breeze 200 to truck, step dad 2 years ago fell asleep at the wheel 94 chevy pickup cruise control on, went off a 18ft imbankment busted right rear axel then another 50yrds aced a tree and spun it round, one of my best friends found him not 5-10 minutes later
Ouch man, sorry to hear about your car, though at least you're ok. I was driving one night with my buddy we had just gotten some Chinese food, and I hit this 40 foot long patch of ice and I had absolutely no control of the car. I was doing like 5mph under the speed limit car started going side to side I was able to keep it like that until we got off the ice and was able to correct the car back forward without anyone getting hurt, and without the car getting hurt. Got lucky there! Just because careful the next time man.

thank god you're alive man. i'm really sorry to hear about your loss. it's like losing a family member. i would have sat in the seat for days too. i probably would have cried.. heh. but dont worry man. we all make mistake, and there's many 240's out there waiting for you. you'll have her back soon enough, and she'll be stronger, faster, and better then ever. good luck
That sucks. At least you came out ok. I had an accident with my 240 a few months ago. It wasn't big but it was cause I was being stupid. I was on a dead end road; had just dropped of a friend. As I was backing up, without looking behind me -_-, my rear left light hit the bumper of a parked van. There was only a small dent on the van. Got out knocked on the owners house and gave him my insurance, etc, etc. After I got home and got a good look at it my car came out fucked up. I started feeling so pissed off at myself for making a retard mistake that will cost me around 1k.
Not only that, but the owner of the van claimed I was backing up to fast and was goofing around on the street, tried to charge the insurance 2k in damages to the corner of a front bumper. They laughed in his face.
dude its like me when i was doing 65 in a stock suspention civic and i hit a tight as s turn yea i rolled it and smacked into 3 tree's and got 7 feet of air and came out un harmed
