Parts parts parts

Ok parts are here. Everything seems here. Even extra flanges if I wanted to weld my own pipes. Had my uncle inspect the welds for me, he said they seem to be ok. I love the fact that they gace an install guide and a list of parts not included on the kit. 1. a weld in bung or pheonix flange, nipple fittings and hose for the low pressure return line from the turbo. 2 An air filter(fuckers). 3 A half size battery. 4. Their kit came with a 3" down pipe, mid pipe, so the stock exaust won't bolt up. Which is fine considering I wouldn't run it with a 3" going to stock. Starting the build later today. I'm interested to see if we get the hp the kit claims without the motor quiting. I still don;t know about running this with a stock ecu and stock injectors. We shall see.

you will be fine if you keep it at 7 psi. when i had my ka24e-t i had (still have) a zietronix wideband 02 sensor, and my afr's were fine. the stock ecu and injectors an keep up. BUT! if you go over 7 or so prepare to run lean and have your engine go POW!

how do i know? well, i got pissed at my turbo and boosted the fuck out of it to blow it up.

then got smart and got an sr......

all these dudes on here talk about how good a KA is, but most of them are stuck with a KA, so they have to like it. i have had both KA's, a ka24e-t, driven my buddy's ka24de-t, and now have an sr and love it way more than anything i have had before.....

hmmm, when we did mine, we just went to home depot, got a bung, drilled a hole at the top of the oil pan, screwed that bitch in there, and ran some jb weld around it to make sure it didnt leak, but it was in there pretty tight already. make sure they put it in the TOP of the oil pan, like, as high as you can go, since the return line runs mostly off of gravity, if you put the bung at the bottom of the pan it will burn off oil in the turbo, and subsequently ruin it.......

speaking from experience, lol.

I want one too! Good luck with it.

Is the turbo a name brand or generic?

lol, didn't get it off ebay. Got it from Maxredline.com I suppose it would be cheaper on ebay didnt know i could get it from ebay. But yea, everything is a knock off. Turbo seems really sturdy, though everything was made in china. They have the layout wierd for the turbo, I will make adjustments to it as I see fit. Originally they have the BOV near the intake mani, I don't really know why, but it will be relocated closer to the turbo. I really hate messing with exuast that's been on for 20 years, just sux. Yay for a makita.

No, I'm not saying you can find a "kit" for cheaper. I'm saying anyone with lots of money can go out and buy bolt-on turbo kits and make lots of power.

running issues

Ok turbo is installed and runs fine. It's a good feeling with boost! BUT the lifters are clicking hella loud. I'm getting stressed out about it. They was clicking before but not this loud. Looking into the valve cover it looks like ther eis plenty of oil. (I was afraid I fucked up the oil pick up seal when I seated it.)
Any Ideas?

When we get suffient boost around 7 psi the waste gate opens correctly but I get a really bad vibration sound. It dosn't effect anything but it's just loud? wierd.

well, everything running fine now, the noise was from the down pipe not being tight enough lol.

New parts comming now to up the boost. Walbro 255 fp, MSD ignition parts and some injectors. Getting a ECU from Jim wolf. going to up the boost to 15 to start with. This will be fun. =]
