well the b16 is only a 1.8 where as the ka is a 2.4. then again honda does have the capability to rev up very fast. but then again ka's have a good power band. most bolt ons dont help a whole lot with the hondas.but from what ive heard help quite abit with ka's. so i believe with the right bolts ons and tune the ka would come out ahead. thast just my opinion
^^^whaaaaat?
no no no. b16 is a 1.6
hondas ARE good with bolt-ons. wtf you talking about?
with bolt ons as in i/h/e? im sure the KA can pull on that b16

89notch, everything you posted was pretty much back ass-wards.
Are we talking about a B16A or B16B?
Both cars full weight?
Does each car have the driver mod?
What chassis has the B16 and KA24DE (you did not specify a 240sx, 510, Z or whatever)
Drag racing, auto x, flat out highway run?
Full bolt-ons. Does that mean a bolt on turbo kit?
Street tires or drag radials?
To many variables man.
rwd drive has the advantage...instock form the ka would come out on top...but its not about the car, its the driver...
How does RWD have the advantage? We don't even know what kinda "race" it is (drag, auto x, highway, etc) or if its a rolling start or standing start.
In stock form the KA24DE has more torque but less horsepower than the B16 (both A and B)
Not only that, most Honda's (the CRX, Del Sol, Civic) are lighter in comparison to a 240sx, and since the B16 has more Horsepower it should have they advantage on the top end.
But since we have no clue what kinda race it it, this question cannot be answered.
im assuming drag...rwd drive has the advantage becuz on take off the car pulls towards the rear and the weight is shifted to the back of the car makin the wheels firm to the ground where as fwd when u take off the same thing happens only u get wheel hop on the front wheels...and im assumin its stock wheels stock everything on drag racing...

Well, if it is a drag race (which i'm assuming as well) would it be 1/8 or 1/4 mile?
IMO, a bone stock 91 240sx vs a bone stock 91 CRX (with a B16, and both drivers equally skilled) = B16>KA24DE
The CRX has less weight.
Less drivetrain loss
Better gearing and has about 20 - 35 hp on the KA24DE depending on if its a B16A or B.
Sure the KA has lots of low end, but once you get up to speed the B16's gearing and power will easily walk the KA.
i kno theyre diff but a simple race wouldnt hurt...i have so many honda friends but they all have d series engines and no b16...just my bro in law wit a crx b18a...im positive he will beat me cuz its gutted and its super light...so its all good...

Like everybody else says, there are too many variables. I've seen a SOHC EG VS a SOHC S13, they do have different mods but they are somewhat similar. Here's the video.
im goin off what ive seen around my home town but now that i think about it thats a horrible thing to go by.because no one around here tunes there shit so the i.h.e are rather pointless without a tune.
ur basically talking about vtec engines over non vtc engines u realize vtec usually wins in power unless of course u decided not to have vtec kick in and just go for higher compression then ur just a tard
and if you really want a closer look at same block sizes u mite as well look at either the h series or the f series and compare it to the ka and the honda engines definately win
