Ok so Im new around here and I just had a quick question. Do you guys think a Greddy T-78 would take to long to spool up on an sr20? If so what other options do you guys suggest?
Well yeah... kinda, to make a long story short, myself and my father are having a little competition. We each bought a 1992 240sx and we are each building it our own way. He is slapping in a LS1 in his so Im going to have to think of something to keep up.
Just build the SR20 to rev to 9-10,000 and your golden! Seriously tho, your gonna need a lot (mostly cash) of resources as well as skill to beat his car.
Is he staying N/A or does he have any power adders?
Cash wise its not bad, I work at a performance parts store, my dad owns a mechanic shop and his best friend owns a performance shop and he's on my side The only crappy part is it's basically a Supra shop. Thats what the T-78 is coming off of. As for my pops he won't tell me what he is doing but looking at his past he'll probably do twin Holley 1250 cfm dominator carbs, he'll blow it with a Vortech, forged crank and pistons, Im assuming bore it and MSD ignition. Thats all I can really think of off the top of my head.
Your pretty much screwed man, lol. I'm sure an SR could hang with it if enough time and money were put into it, but you'd probably be better of with a V8 yourself and maybe a couple turbos.
VK56DETT???
do a 2JZ swap, they got the motor mounts for the swap on ebay and you could make 1000 outta that somehow. hell of alot easier than trying to do it with a SR
