ok so ive hooked up my temp guage and im wondering if it is operateing corectly. with the ground hooked up it registers 100, and when the ground isnt hooked up it reads like 150. however the stack gauge reads it is overheating. i definatly dont think its overheating, but at the same time its scary. does the temp sender need to be grounded. its an autometer guage if that helps.
ok so it doesnt say this in the intructions, but if you are using an adapter like i am (greddy water temp adapter in the upper rad hose) then the adapter must see a ground. and you can not just simply ground the sender. just a little fyi, as i know quite a few people with this problem. Apperantly the sender see's ground through the threads on the sender itself.

Really? Never heard of the adapter needing a ground. Since temperature sensors arent powered...
