I have a 93 nissan hardbody truck that has a 93 nissan 240 sx in it. There is a ting coming from the top front of the engine. Would anyone have a clue what would make this noise? It still runs fine. Valves? camchain guides? camchain? Thank you for any input.
the ka is notorious for timing chain rattle. one of the guides probably broke. do a search you should find quite a bit. word of advice dont go too cheap on fixing it if you ebay. i have a buddy that did and screwed his motor up.

yea u can take out the top guide as soon as u pull the valve cover off its right on top. i did it to my 93 240 and i neva had a prob. but yes it is a ez fix and a common prob wit the ka's
good news i took the side guide off and the noise stopped. but in doing so i noticed that both of the front cam gears are loose while back ones are tight? do you know if that is normal? They wiggle back and forth?
