S13's supposed to have an electric fan?

my '93 has an electric fan attached to the radiator, but ive never once heard it kick on. Instead all i hear is the loud, power robbing, belt squeaking clutched fan. i hate those things.

It makes me wonder if someone installed an electric fan and it just crapped out? or did they come factory and mines crapped out, or something- i dont even know. Ive got a few empty spots for relays in my engine bay but i assumed they were for HICAS and ABS and stuff like that.

Is there a reccomended electric fan to use for an S13?

i think your looking at the condensor fan for the a/c system, its on the back of the radiator

I have an electric fan, but its aftermarket as it is on all s13's if you happen to buy one with an electric fan, though its odd you still have the clutch fan? that defeats the purpose.

originalsin is right. you can do away completely with your clutch fan, it is practically useless unless you sit in a lot of traffic in really hot weather. i've been without a clutch fan for 6+ months and turbo for 2-3 months w/ no heat problems.

An A/C condensor the size of the radiator needing a cooling fan?? what a bunch of homos. (nissan in the late 80s that is) think of all the cash they coulda saved shaving $2 per fan per car over 10,000+ cars, assuming they sans'd the clutch fan in favor of a temperature switch to engage the electric fan.

ive got a flexalite fan chillin on my pegwall... mebbe its time to bust it out. Id much prefer a "vreeeeeeeeeee!!!!" to the WHROOOOOOOOOO of te hstock piec.e or just do like originalsin says and hook up my own variable temperature switch to the stock fan. or ill just do nothing and not spend any more time or money on this car.
