DO NOT go to East Coast Imports!!!!
just a warning to anybody in maryland looking to get engine/body work done, do not even drive anywhere near East Coast Imports or you will get ripped off. I paid $1800 to have my engine swap done there and it was the worst experience i ever had anywhere. The job was supposed to take two weeks at the most, or i would have done it myself, the reason i paid him to do it was because i wanted it done fast. anyways, they ended up keeping the car for 5 months! they dont answer the phone and always have an excuse for why its not done. Then i go down there one day, and i see that my SR20 and 240 have been sitting in a body shop for 2 months with nothing over them and the hatch is open on my fastback! there was a half inch of dust on the engine (in the intake/exhaust manifold, etc.) and in my car. When the swap was finally done, the paint was chipped on my headlights, the hood was scratched (brand new paint job) and the body panels were put on incorrectly, he said he would fix it but two weeks later it still wasn't done so i just took it the way it was.
Since getting the swap done, i have met about 5 people who have dealt with Troy Humphreys (the owner of East Coast Imports) and told me what an asshole he is. The other day my boss at work was telling me about a bad experience he had with a bodyshop and when i asked which one he told me........ drumroll........ East coast imports!! they kepy his car for A YEAR AND A HALF!!! he paid troy $10k to install a body kit, paintjob, and some other stuff. i wish i had a picture of the car to show you, its so bad you can rub almost rub the paint off with your finger. it barely has one halfassed coat of paint on it and the primer is showing through. if i would have known this i never would have gone there.
So........... the moral of this story is dont go anywhere near East Coast Imports or you will start losing your money before you even walk in the front door. If anybody else has anything to say about ECI plz post here
