should i be concerned...?

so i got my autometer temp guage installed. i used the greddy adapter in the upper rad hose and it reads a pretty constant what i believe to be about high 180's degree mark this is in my garage with the fans on. the thing that concerns me is the dash guage reads its overheating. i just want so reassurance i guess and see what you guys thought.

well obviously one of your gauges is reading wrong. lol i would get a third sensor. (thermal IR or similar) and triple check then you would be able to tell which one was right. my guess would be the autometer is right...but i don't like leaving things like that to guesses

I would say the autometer is right and the stock gauge is wrong. Nissan never had the most accurate temp gauges. 180 should feel pretty warm grabbing the rad hose. Are you sure its bleed good? Does the rad hose feel super hot, like you cannot even touch it?

I would agree. I've heard the stock gauge is terrible and not to trust it at all. A third gauge would be a good way to go, but not always easy to come across without spending money. If it were me, I'd probably just trust the autometer. I took out my original gauge cluster so I've just always gone by my Defi and I haven't had any issues. I put mine in the factory location without the radiator hose adapter but I don't see why that'd make any difference.

Edit: Also, what radiator are you running? Are you running factory thermostat or nismo? Can you drive it around to see if it runs any cooler?

yea im thinking the autometer is right. i was watching the car the entire time and i didnt see anything to lead me to beleive it was overheating and i think a second water temp sensor is a little weird. maybe an oil temp though, which i probably will do as well as an oil cooler just to be safe. thanks guys just wanted to be sure. the dash guage goes all the way to the top. kinda freaks me out. i think ill disconnect it.

Yea lol mine actually blew up. It was really odd. I remember watching my motor run around the beginning of it running and noticed a little coolant leaking from the sensor so I leaned in for a closer look and it just popped lol I have no idea what happened but oh well.

Replace the RB sensor with the KA sensor. Your gauge will read right then.
