Not typical wiring problem Ciefero engine rb20 wiring harness

ok im running into a BUNCH of problems. i have a A31 (Laurel), engine but i got a rb20 wiring harness and nothing is matching up! first off the a31has black injector plugs and my rb20 has brown injector plugs they are both very different and will not match up. also the Ciefero has a different CAS plug i also have the rb20 CAS and i tried putting the RB20 cas on my engine but it also wont fit. Has anyone ran into these problems before? im thinking about calling venus back and have them send me a A31 ecu wiring harness. Just to clarify im pretty sure i have a a31 but if anyone wants to check and make sure it really is..any help will be greatly appreciative

I've dealt with a couple of A31 clips, hated them, but I never read the tag on it. Make sure it's an A31 motor first, then get the correct harness.

is there anything i could look for to make sure its an a31 engine? i need help badly ive search deep into rb20 wiring and a31 and ciefero.. im in some confused state of mind right now.

i definatly know how to to the rb20 into the 240sx thats not the prob. its getting the damn wiring harness to fit on the engine.

the thing thats different is the ignitor plugs..mine are black i know the r32 has brown plugs.

my aim sn is mxsxking163 if you have any advice

what colour are the valve covers?

the valve covers are the same color on the A31 as they are on the R32. If I remember right the IC piping was a little different as was the intake elbow comming off of the throttle body, it has no BOV.

yes it is an a31 my clip came with the elbow with no BOV and also one that came with the BOV. ill call venus and see if they hav an a31 ecu harness.

so with this wiring harness does it still splice into the KA lower engine harness the same way as the r32 harness? Im sure it would wiring the same right? is there any way i could get around using that harness? i would have to do the r32 conversion then..r32 CAS and r32 ignitors anything else im missing? it seemed that the R32 harness matched up with everything except the ignitors and CAS. I already have an r32 CAS
i was looking through my intercooler piping and it was marked and has A31 on it. so the A31 harness will still fit on my engine right?
also does anyone know where i could find an A31 wiring harness?

I just had venus send me an A31 harness hopefully this one wont give me any probs..

oh yeah its pretty funny that the R32 harness i got from venus is missing an injector plug it only has 3 on it!

no, that isn't funny. An rb is a 6 cylinder. 3 + 1 = 4. So you are saying you are missing 3 pulgs? There is a clip on the harness by the no 1 injector that has 6 prongs. This clip attaches to another harness that has 3 plugs on it.

um ok heres how it is.. theres the 4 and 5 injector plugs already on the engine and it plugs into the harness. i have the 1-5 injectors and i dont have the 6th. i took pictures and everything but i dont have them up.. Its fine though because im not even using this harness because its the wrong one for my engine.

I think modestmouse is in need of an r32 rb20 harness. If I remember correctly he also can get a laurel harness, but not a skyline harness. Why don't you talk to him and see if you guys can switch. Then you will both have what you need.

i got the A31 wiring harness and everything fit right. And the R32 wiring harness was missing a injector plug!lol

does the A31 wiring to the 240sx lower harness the same as the R32?

use the ka lower harness, its much easier and cleaner.
other wise wire the efi harness the same and you should be set to go.

Yes do so, I made things hard on a lot of people when I first made my write up by saying to use the RB lower harness, the first 3 RB swaps I did, I did it that way and kicked myself in the ass for doing so.

oh i know i need to use the lower 240 harness. Im having some problems finding the 6 and 8 wire plugs! are they different on the A31. Around what area on the harness are these plugs located?

They are different on the A31, the plugs arent the same looking if I remember right, basically the easiest way to describe it would be, it's on the 'end' of the harness, when you lay it out, you'll see the part of the harness that would plug into the chassis harness on the A31, the colors are the same, and they are all right in that area(it's been about 5-6 months since I've dealt with the A31 RB's so maybe someone else would know better)
