1990 ka24e power bogging issue

Hi i have a ka24e 5 speed and i just did a rebuild on it( yes i know its only a ka24e but lots of the parts and machine work was free) but it idles fine and revs ok but when i drive it around it doesnt have good response. Starting in 1st seems fine but i shift to 2nd and it boggs down. i have checked the timing to make sure all the marks are good, replaced the maf, new plugs and wire, new cap and rotor, checked the tps, new o2, cleaned and checked the AIV. Im not sure if i missed anything. If someone reads something i missed or have ideas please let me know.

Thank You

ECU codes? Are you 100% sure your cam timing is good?

Injectors.. i ohmed them and they are all aroud 12.4 to 12.8

I checked the all the timing marks to make sure they are all were they are supposed to be, and used a timing gun

Could a fuel pump to the cause since it was sittin for a while?

I've also been having a similar problem with mine. It's really weird. It idles and starts fine. when i'm driving on the freeway it'll just randomly bog/surge once or twice in a row and keep going on. Or if i generously give it some gas it does it at around 3.5k rpm. this has been plaguing me for months. thx for posting this

might not even be close, but when my car wanted to do this i went ahead an got some grounding cable from wal mart for like 2 bucks a piece, i think they are meant for a lawn mower or something, and beefed up the grounding points between battery and chassis, and block to chassis. helped my idle and reving.

cheap fix that wont hurt to try
