ebay seats

has anyone bought or seen, in person, the cheap nismo knock off seats on ebay? i have a black corbeau drivers seat, had the thing for years this is the 3rd car its been in, and it doesnt really match the passenger seat. i dont have the cash to buy another racing seat but i want something that looks good but is semi functional.

if u wanna spend money on sparco seat rails or make ur own mounts, then they will work just as good as the stock s13 ones, cause they arent that good. they're ok for stockers i guess, i but i think even the ebay ones will beat em just cause its newer material and formed a little better.

ones like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33701

universal slider my ass. s13's have very very funny bottoms, so getting anything to fit is hard, and aftermarket rails are expensive. I wish I had new seats too though, cuz 15 yo seats lose a little...
Try looking at past auction winners and ask them if they put them in a 240?

i have s14 seats (finally). i love them, but the sliders are kinda rusted and stiff as hell. i wonder if s13 and s14 sliders/brackets are identical...

They are...I took my S14 driver side seat and it fit right in the 89 coupe with some adjustment.

BTW, it is not that hard to fabricate your own bracket using parts available from a local hardware store, power drill with some titanium bits (quicker), appropriately sized bolts or if you have a $90 arc welder like the one I got from wal-mart it would be quicker as well. Those seats look nice, especially the alcantara sets I have seen. ONly prob is ride height with some seats...

i have the ebay seats, they are suprisingly well made for the price, nice color, decent fabric, get the silders i think theyre optional? i used the mounting brackets from my old s13 seats and put em on. works like a charm

ive head about the ebay seats being not very safe. also something about if you get in a wreck and the seats arent approved your insurance might not cover you.

How did you make the bracket out of your old seats on the s13.

im retarded and didnt do my research and bought the nismo ebay seats and got them, took off my old seats and found out i was royaly screwed.

I was thinking to drill out the old brackets and ream it out then mount on new seats. but i dont think that will hold up verry well.

Although the seats bolt in, the sliders from an S13 will not bolt into S14 seats, different mounting points on the seats. At least on the JDM S14 seats they are.

oh my ghey, i think this was one of my first post. im gettin all nostalgic.

first off, if your gonna race the car its best to get somethin thats fia approved or OE. tech will cook your shit otherwise, hence why i bought gtr seats and not f1spec seats (they ended up being $100 cheaper too).

i have since ridden in the egay seats, they arent bad. if you consider i have broken s13 seats goin for change in my pocket, the egay seats cant be any worse.
