okay well heres whats up my friend has a sr20 motor hes going to sell me and i want to fix up the internals and put a better turbo on it... the turbo i want is a Garrett GT2871R but im not really sure what internals i should build up... so help me out guys! no flaming or smart ass talkin... if u wanna do that go join a civic club
*note*
this car will be used for drifting and i don't really care about maxing the turbo/engine out just a decent amount so i wont be wasting/over doing the engine
alright, most of those cars seem to be made for just top horsepower! I'm looking for something thats in the middle of completely decked out and stock... something that has quick throttle response with power and can take a beating... I plan on getting this motor built and dropped in asap so i can get the KA motor out lol
Right Sized FMIC - Most IC's are expensive and big but theres a few out there right sized
GT2871R turbo - I'd run an .86 A/R
Turboback exhaust - Manifold, Elbow, Downpipe, 3" Cat, 3
LW Pullies - Reduce Drag on Engine
Port an Polish - More air Velocity, not volume
Cams - I'd Run 264's
LW Flywheel - less rotational Mass
LW engine Internals - Not so much over bore but that could help also
and there a bit more if you'd like, basically build like an N/A engine

Here'ds a very good example of badass response and hella power
makes above 1000 but waqthc the throttle response
i have a gt2871r .86 a/r and my buddy has a .64 i kill him on the freeway but on response i have no chance. if you only want about a good tuned 300 horse car with amazing spool go with the .64
upgrade to forged pistons 9.0:1 CR, Brian crower 264 cams, stock manifold, upgrade all exhaust from teh turbo back, and use a gt2871R 0.63 turbo. This is an inexpensive setup with minimal machine and custom work ,and with the right injectors and boost controller easily capable of 350whp....
no need for head work, light pullys, just a good clutch and flywheel to compliment and help spool a lil (yes help spool by reducing the largest drag on teh engine...the flywheel). You will save money with that setup over the fully P&P head work, etc...
