whats the top speed for an s13 sr20 blackop w/o the limiter?

i finally tracked down the 0-60 times for a stock s13 sr20. roughly 5.6-6.0s. but i cannot find the top speed anywhere. now i assume its around 155 because my old z32 2+2 auto 300zx did about 157 with only 15 more hp and about 500 more pounds. however i know the gearing is different and power-to-weight are more for acceleration. so can anyone please tell me how fast a 240sx (s13 or s14) will go with a stock s13 blacktop sr20det swapped in it with the speed limiter removed? at most it can have a 3" exhaust system and air intake as i plan on doing that when i swap the sr20 in.

does anyone know? the best i can find is a pretty wide range. anywhere from where its cut off by the limiter to about 160-165 mph.

Well the stock gauge cluster from a JDM car with the SR20 registers at 180. So that might give you some idea.

is that 180 mph or kmh?

if its 180kmh then that is about 115 mph or where the limiter engages.

i want to know without the limiter.

im just throwing a educated guess of about 135-140. i personally think 155 is too high for a bone stock sr. I mean sure the gearing might allow it on a dyno but with the force on the car from wind at 140 is a lot and with a stock motor i just dont see it going far past that. when corvettes do around 200mph with 300 more hp than a sr.......i dont know, but thats my guess

I've been to 114 in 4th gear on a road course and it was just over 6k from what I could tell. It was a relatively low speed track, autobahn South course in Joliet IL.

okay im curious because i had an auto 2+2 300zx z32 that did 157 bone stock. it weighs a ton more (3500 vs 2800) and only has 17 more horses.

it does have more torque but again not by much. like 198 vs 173? gearing is similar as well though the 300zx had slightly taller gearing in the transmission. im either putting an sr20 240 together or buying a 300zx. im looking at overall performance and so far its pretty close. so now im trying to figure out a real top speed for a stock s13 sr20det 240sx
