Ok so here we go , my friend just bought a 96 zenki and just like most of the people , he chose to go SR . I can get his engine for almost nothing and it will be much more reliable than my 89 ka-e (for turbo applications) . I was wondering if its more simple to bring the new engine to obd 1 than to keep it obd 2 . Also , which parts make them different ( i know for the diagnostic port ,but around the engine ? Intake ? what else ? ) I've never had a obd 2 car so I still have alot to learn about that . thanks for any help and forgive my bad english !

wait are you talking about your car or his? im uber confused. you can't really convert the 96 to obd1 since japan has no "obd" emissions testing. Maybe you are wanting to put the 96 motor in your car? it should be a simple kae-kade swap and you wont have to worry about "converting" any obd components... anything that you could convert you might as well eliminate. you will need to use an s13 kade ecu

There is alot of ''I want to swap my 91 Ka-de for a 96 ka-de '' kind of post but I still cant find anything telling me if its simpler switching the obd2 engine to obd1 before the swap , than keeping it obd2 . Considering there is more sensors , a diagnostic port , etc I thought the wiring would be harder ...If my question has been discuss , just send me a link because I cant find exactly what im looking for ...

I follow this forums for about 4-5 hours a day since like early september , and I notice how more and more , people with good knowledge act like every post was stupid and useless . Come on guys, I didnt post '' Tell me how to drift''.

I guess I had a bad day ...
