sohc coil on dohc

Im swapping in a dohc into my 90 240sx. I was wondering if anyone has used a sohc coil with the dohc stuff. I mean i can find the diagrams and do the wiring myself but i was wondering if anyone has done it.

Also, i have a spare gauge cluster that i want to test with led bulbs. I was wondering if i could just apply +12v to one of the tabs and connect the negative to one of the ground screws.

well from my research when i did my SOHC to DOHC swap the coils are NOT interchangable and each engine needs its specific coil. i dont have any real proof thought because i didnt try it.

i used a MSD blaster 2 coil instead of trying to source a dohc coil also. the little diamond thing you are refering to that is under the stock coil will work on the DOHC because im using it right now.

alright, so i just need to find diagrams of it and then cut and solder the three wires onto the diamond thing and just buy a blaster coil. The other single wire is just a ground wire right?

i did a s14 ka swap into 89-90 chassis w/ ka24e. we used the same ignitnion coil and it workedl like a charm.
