Wassup guys im new to the forum's and am goin to be a owner of a 95' 240sx soon. And just thought i should join to get info on things i might need help on. I know a good amount of stuff about cars. Almost went to UTI but too expensive, next year for sure i took a year off to work so im goin to learn more. But to wat i have planned for my 240 is a RB26DETT swap. I know the basics so far and have a good list of parts and am still workin on it and the estimated price. Between my and 2 of my friends i plan on gettin it done during the summer or 07' so it'll start in like June. Also im goin to do a RHD conversion to it which i think would also add style points. So here's to good times, good info, and crazy boostin...lol:drunk :rockon :rockerdud

haha, you almost missed the wagon!!!!! 10 newbs just joined up alittle earlier with the exact same plan for their 240's!

eh, just alittle hazing there. but alot of people have had that same plan, and NONE of them have done it. Not saying you wont, i wish all the luck to you. I'd just like to see more progress than dreams from the members of this site, me included.

but hey, welcome to the greatesr 240sx forum on the web!

Yea i expected a lil hazing as is on every forum.lol no biggy But yea its a dream in the proccess of a reality. Thats why im actually planning ahead and taking down notes and stuff. And also why i planned the build date about 7 months later just so i can get all the info and gather up the money. But thanks and as soon as i buy my 240 i'll definately post pics. glad to have joined a awesome forum!

glad you took that post the right way, haha. I know i've went through soo many concepts and plans for my hatch, and the end It's become a DD while I buy a coupe for $300 for a rebuild and transfer. Hopefully mine will be done before you even start. good luck man.

a conversion to RHD??? Just my opinion thats a waste of money and time. and for that RB26 you gotta have around 6000 bucks, and thats just for the motor. Who knows how much labor costs...just a heads up. I would know because my friend did it and I helped him. Took us a whole week, about 6-10 hrs. a day, and he ends up crashing his car a month later.

all i gott say is glad to hear your coming to the 240 gang, and good luck with that rb26 swap, isnt that swap ridiculously hard since the 26 is in a awd setup, dont you have to do a crap load of fab work to make the awd work. have fun

You can get a RWD RB26DETT, and personally to save money i'm just supercharging my KA24DE, so if i have heard right wouldnt that make it a DE-R?

Well to let u guys know again. i have planned this and am making a budget for this i still have 8months of savings to go. Im at about 3k right now all the labor is goin to be done by me. My friend is good at welding so sum fab work wouldnt be a problem. And i got all the right tools, so trust me wen i say this i might be a n00b to 240's but i know my stuff on cars in general so this would wouldnt be that hard. and i got lots of time during the summer i dont really have a set date to finish so for all i care the project could go on for weeks. lol but i'll do my best to finish it quickly and do quality work. So yea dont say i dont know way im doin cause u dont know the skills that i have. and yea im makin it RWD the AWD would take longer still debating.

Hey im a NOOB Too, but I'm not here to join no bandwagon, I'm coming from an all show JDM'd 01 Galant. I want a RWD, manual, with parts available up the ass. All my parts are custom order or super rare. Now I can use my connections at Tanabe, HKS, etc and get parts! Woohoo.

lol Your lucky u got connections...lol yea i kinda want 1-off parts so i know i'll be the only one that has it. and JDM goodies are always good. if i were to decide to keep the interior like everything behind the driver ima go all Bride upoulstry however u spell it. so like door panels and back seats maybe even head linear all Bride material. i think its sex on wheels especially in red...haha:dancingco

People have done that to many cars. BUt yea, still looks good. Get the two bride bucket seats, do the door pannels and rear seats in it. I havent seen a headliner or the rear piece (where the speakers are) in bride fabric yet. IF you have a FB 240sx, do the rear cover in it. Then wrap the sub box, if you have that, in Bide fabric. Now thats advertising!
