my a/c runs nice n cold, but if im cruising then come to a light.
the time i am at the light raises the engine temp significantly, is there any reason? im thinkin fan clutch

You might just have a tired cooling system. Mine would overheat if I sat there long enough. Well actually, it only overheated in pendelton when it was 115 degrees outside, and I got a blowout, and I waited for the towtruck with the A/C on. But I would just go run the hell out of your car on some backroads or a track and see if it will overheat without the A/C on. If it will, and it isn't your thermostat, it's a good reason to buy a koyo aluminum 3 inch radiator and electric fans. thats my primitive advice.

Just fixed the same problem in my 93 Nissan truck with KA24E motor. Yes the fan clutch was bad. That is where I would probably start.

There is an electric fan that goes on when you hit the AC and when the engine is hot. When I installed a new radiator in my 92 hatch, it turned out the electric fan blade had come off. Just a thought. You might need other stuff too, but this could be part of the problem.

ok well i kno when im movin it cools down really quick, but would i be able to jus fab an electric fan to fit the radiator? or buy and electric fan to fit? and if i got an electric fan wut do i do wit the stock fan? jus un bolt it?

There are 2 fans. The electric one is right next to the radiator deep into the shroud. It has braces holding the motor. I guess you could fab one up, but I would just feel next to the radiator and see if it is still attached.

iight thanx alot

I HAD the same problem last year. Seeing that you have a 90 red coupe I think your radiator need replace if it hasn't be replaced. I have a red 91 coupe and was having this same problem. I try all the stuff most people suggest.....flash the system change the thermostat etc.... but the best way is to replace the old radiator with a new one........(but ofcourse make sure your fans works........It was like 100degrees today in NYC and I had my A/C on while driving in city traffic for like 2 hrs and I had NO heating problem...hope this helps(don't wait for it to leak) o damn and I having change my oild for like 8000miles

this sucks, the dealer i bought the car from said he put a new radiator in, which he did. tho then never put that lil electric fan back in so thats the problem, need to get a replacement fan quick

I spent $41 on a new fan clutch for my 93 Nissan truck at Advanced Auto parts. On the outside of the box it claims fan clutch will loose 100 RPM per year. If water pump bearings god bad replace the fan clutch because of vibration from the bad pump. If hte fan clutch has been on the car longer than 5 years replace. I know they want to sell you parts and shit but maybe you should test the fan clutch first. Run the car to temperature and then open the hood. Look at the fan while you turn the car off. It should only turn about 3 revolutions. Mine on the truck just kept turning for about 10 seconds. Try that before you go after the other fan that doesn't run under normal conditions on my car anyway.
