I am posting this b/c I would like to know if there is a automatic transmission for a SR20det.I have a 1991 240 Automatic. I use to want to put a 5speed tranny in my car but after thinking about it for awhile it proably would cost a bundle.So if you guys could plz tell me if theres a auto tranny for the Sr. If there is plz hook me up with some links so i can make me purchase and get on with my life.

it would be easier if you just come out and say that you can not drive a manual transmission.
ill answer anyway though.
Doing an auto to manual swap is not very complicated at all. The hardest part of doing it would be sourcing the parts.
As for the SR in an automatic, YES. They did come as an auto and YES you can buy a auto motorset.

... if you're spending the money on the motorset why not get the 5spd tranny with it, doesnt cost mush after that...

BINGO!!
Just swap in the manual transmisson and learn how to drive it. Its not a very complicated thing to learn how to do. better yet just find someone with a manual transmisson to teach you.
years ago when i learned it only took me about a day to get the idea down and a few months to get good at it.

you can get one from an automatic JDM s13.
search for one. Ebay. Google, Yahoo, Phase2, local forums, craigslist..... i mean its not like your searching for the hope diamond.

Still dont know why you prefer an auto, do you not have a right hand?? (sorry if thats the case) Anyways, you can get an auto tranny from any of the hundreds of sites that sell sr's, they'll be harder to find though...

No shit, I've tought a 19 year old Okinawan girl that speaks as much English as I do Japanese how to drive my 14 with an OS Giken super single clutch (most pain in the ass clutch I've ever driven on) and she's only been driving for 3 months....

just speak to a moterset importer, there's tons of auto SR's over there. Hell my friend ordered a CA front clip and they sent him and automatic by mistake

anyways, converting isnt hard. its run you about 500 more than the engine swap. plus even if your not good with a manual, you will get better over time. i know i finish doing a m/t swap about 2 months ago( first ever manual owned and driven). im good at driving it but not great!! practice makes perfect.

still think its pretty gay your gonna fork out cash on an sr but leave it auto. All the work, time, blood your going to put into your car and you cant even take a days time and spend with it and its new heart learning how to control her! You dont deserve an sr! =x
