well when i popped my hood today (i havnt drive this car in a month or so) so i just finished taking it for a nice drive... i open it up and it LOOKs as if oil has dripped all the way down the front of my engine lol, i was like WTF?!?

the only thing icould it being is leaking at the valve cover, im pretty sure its oil atleast , what else could it be?'

i did pull off my valve cover TWICE with the same gasket, its leaking right in the front, where the two bumps are, its leaking on the one closest to the driver side...

should i try to fix this as soon as possible or just do it when i get a chance? like what are some of the consequences of this

When I rebuilt my engine, we put a new gasket on there... the old one was more like a piece of plastic at that point than a piece of rubber. We also put a bit of RTV on the circular parts, for insurance that they wouldnt leak.

No problems yet.

If your car is just leaking a bit of oil from the valve cover, its not vital to engine life to fix it right away. Just keep an eye on your oil level. Those guys are right. Just put some RTV sealer on the ribbed part of those little lobes in the front of you valve cover gasket and you should be all set.

I have also reused my gasket about 4 times. Use some sealent and you will be good to go. Also, wipe off the oil that is on the front of the engine and make sure its leaking from the valve cover and not the front seal cover like mine. Good luck.
