I realize that the dreaded wheel size question is beaten to death on a regular basis, but I've spent a few days searching for answers in here, and frankly, there's not much of a consensus, but plenty of suggestions...some pretty out there.
In short, I've narrowed things down with the help from what I've searched and read in here, and I'm hoping that I can get some final help before a purchase.
Chassis: '92 S13 coupe, SR swap.
Suspension: Currently stock, planning on Koni or KYB/ Eibach combo.
This is a project car my father and I ahve been working on over the last year. It's rarely going to see track use, but may occasionally, and will be a weekend cruiser for the most part. We're still building for performance (read: no crazy body kits or wings), so we've settled on a set of 5Zigen FN01R-Cs. We're looking to fit a decent amount of rubber under the stock fenders, and get as flush to the fenders as possible.
CHOICE 1:
17 x 7 +35 front, 225/45/17 tire
17 x 8 +20 rear, 245/40/17 tire
CHOICE 2:
17 x 8 +35 front, 225/45/17 tire
17 x 9 +20 rear, 255/40/17 tire
I'd love to go with the second option, and I'm pretty sure that the front would be no problem, although I'm a little unsure on the offset. Still, I'd love some feedback (or correction if I'm wrong) and/or pics if anyone has any.
The rear is the big question. I can't seem to find anyone to verify this wheel/tire/offset on an S13 coupe. Does anyone have any feedback here? Am I way off, or does this work? Would we be better off with the first combo?
Thanks in advance for the help. I appreciate it.
