Well, since that job in FL isn't as grand as I thought it would be, I may end up just slaving here all summer at Target....oh well. Either way I want to at least have a motor by summer....and 190hp doesn't sound bad compared to Mazda's claimed 116hp for my 1.6...lol
Whats so great about S5 rotors and the RX8 Eshaft?

s5 rotors are light weight compared to s4 rotors.
rx8 e-shaft i think is more stronger/lighter or someshit. I forget lol.

my s4 rotors are 9.4:1 comp ratio the s5 are lighter and 9.7:1

the Rx8 e-shaft is only like 180 bucks and 1/2lb lighter and has something like a 3 window rear stationary gear, im a bit hazy on this part but it made it sound like that it gets better oil flow

that and I wanna get rid of my engine cause 3mm apex seals are gay, they cause more drag and are pretty much useless cause of the stock 2mm

I would be making more power right now if I had 2mm but the guy that had the engine rebuilt is a jackass

and i gotta check if I can still use my housing and stuff if I go to a 2mm apex seal with the new rotors

I still got more researching to do hehe

Yeah, I was planning to use 2mm....but not sure which ones.
I read on NoPistons that the stockers are known to seal the best, but also scratch the housing. I looked at Racing Beat's 2mm aluminum filled Carbon ones but I don't know how well they seal or how durable they are. Iirc, I read that the Racing Beat ones are good for high revving and N/A....which is my route.

Well, looks like the 13b swap will be put off even longer.
The 1.6 is going under the knife this weekend, officially. Pulled it 2 weeks ago, pulled the head last weekend, now the rest is coming apart.....yay.

aw this sounded like it was gonna be interesting, my friend was gonna do it on his miata but ended up getting the mazdaspeed one =p

Yeah, I can't decide what to do now.
I'm probably driving to Suwanee, GA to pick up another 1.6 this weekend, so the logical thing (to me) is to build my current 1.6 and drive the hell out of it....but that'll take months of time and money....so we'll see.......

Holy shit.
If a 26B can make 500rwhp N/A....a 6 Rotor (39B if my math is correct..lol) would make like...well....more power than I can think of w/o a pen and paper...

Well, after several mishaps, fuck-ups, and some shitty engineering (i.e. some broken bolts that shouldn't break when only torqued to their proper specs) I'm back on the 13B bandwagon.

I've narrowed it down to a S5 13b N/A for hte Miata. Probably going to buy a junkyard motor or two sometime soon. I want one to learn to port with (it can be a S4 motor for all I care since it'll be torn down and kept for spare or sellage), and general tear down and whatnot, and another one to build for FUN (and installation...hehehe).

After messing with the 1.6 and just getting generally ill by all the crap thats gone wrong, I think a rotary is more what I want. Smooth, high revving (I won't be going beyond 8k unless I see the need to), lightweight, and above all else...quick revving. Those who know me on here (or of me, rather) know I love quick revving engines.

Ok, off to bed. Going to church in the morning and kicking myself for how many times I said GD today while working the Miata....
