this is starting to become a really tough choice for me because i keep thinking about it. The more i search the more i want both of them. THey both have their pros an cons, but that fact that the RB is cheaper is a big advantage over the SR. But there are aloso more things to consider. I allways like to be different, Nowdays every 240 has an SR and its common, but i want to be the guy people now becaust I have a Skyline engine, I wan to be unique. The SR is easier swap and produces about the same numbers, there is also lots of aftermarket parts for it. Please help me out?? every opinion counts. Thanx

As of right now, I'm looking at around 300 rwhp. More later maybe?
I'm just having fun for now. Going to enjoy the car as long as possible.
Can't beat a $200 240sx that has about a quarter size rust on the whole car, AND runs. haha.
The RB does have the cool factor, I'm really not leaning either way currently..

LoL you guys are killing me. Fog the SR will be cheaper than doing the RB20. The RB20 is cheaper to start but when you start to mod it $$$$. Here is what I bought for my RB20. Tomie 270 procams I got a good deal on them $750, 800cc Sard Injectors Shipped $420, Head Gasket was about $220, Valve springs $320. My PFC for the RB20 was $940 with no commander, My intake manifold was $1250!. I didn't even get a chance to find a RB25 gear box yet and thats going to be another $1200 do doubt. Stick with the SR it's cheaper in the long run.

i don't even understand the point of these swaps, when you have a perfectly capable engine that can make 400whp with stock block and internals right out the fuckin factory.....
swap band wagoners have caused the KA to become severely underrated. The only swap that makes sense to me is an rb25, since its a humongous power gain, or the swap i could only dream of.

I agree with you on that one. Ka is a very powerful motor if set up right. The only reason I really have an RB is because it was already swapped into the 240 I bought. Other then that, I planned to do KA-T.

i have no issue with ka sr or rb's whatever.......but it seems like every KA turbo job is fucking hacked up, only a handfull of ones done right, other then that, looks like what any 16 year old kid can slap together for 800 bucks.
edit i take that back, 75% of all swaps or org engines are hacked up or hand me down projects from nissan sites.

swap or no swap, who on this forum with any engine for a fact is 400whp that is not a shops car? i bet you can count all of them on both hands.
I kinda agree with this guy, it just seems like everyone is out to impress everybody else with how fast there car is, and take as little time/money to do a swap or turbo the ka. I replaced my old kade with another kade and you couldnt tell anything had been done. When I do somethin I always take my time to make sure everything is how it should be. Being anal sometimes has its advantages...

I didn't like my 6500 rpm rev limit so I junked the high mile motor for a lower mile motor that rev higher 
. I love SR's I also have a SR20VE in my Daily driver.

Nice koopa, i guess he didnt know who was talking to. But I do wish you would jump off this whole elitist veiw of the SR20. Yes its a great motor, there are definitely reasons its soo popular, but this whole "let me see a dyno of this" is getting old. I have a dyno chart of a CA hitting over 600whp, I'm sure an RB20 could do that too(not saying its easy or inexpensive, hell its not easy or inexpensive to do it safely in an SR either).
Hell, maybe I could jump into your build thread an post about how under-designed your SR is compared to my buddies VH... get off it.
