i think only a complete fuckin idiot would "fly off the road" on 82 , its just a back road , its not the Nurburgring for christ sake.:gaylaugh
Slappy my response to zack were pretty much words of encouragement and a bit of zarcasm put in. But in reality i've taken people down that road that have nearly crashed into a stone wall or fly off a turn or almost run into me if I hadn't predicted that they wouldn't stop on time and inched a bit forward as they came flying through. It's been more than a few times too.

But see we live in a world full of idiots, but you've obviously never driven there enough to see things happen seems like you didn't see the various crosses posted on some of the light posts or the nuts and bolts on the wall of doom. Well you can't, it was night.

You've driven there maybe once er twice? But sometimes it's beyond driver error since there are deer all over those roads, if you drive on any twisty backroad you're bound have close calls because of the unpredictable nature and unlike sanctioned race events and tracks there is nobody around and nobody knows your exact location so in a sense it is more dangerous.

If it rains it usually stays on the roads for 2 days, parts get mud sliding from some of the hills and since it runs along a creek there are wet spots often. Actually a few months ago there was a tree down covering an entire lane, there were no flares either and it was right after a blind corner.

But then you might ask, why drive there fast? Because life is full of risks and it's damn fun, their's no reason to be afraid all the time. As long as you know what you're limits are it can be relatively safe and late at night until the crack of dawn there isn't any traffic on that road. It's a great road to tune your suspension.

finally....D1 is here....only 1 more day till it starts and 2 more days till i am up there....is anyone driving up saturday morning? i got prom friday untill 3am sat morning...i was plannin on leaving at 8am sat morning for the track....let me kno if anyone is driving up sat so i can meet up....

Of course it's not an Evo. I'm referring to the Evo vs Elise debate. After seeing this accident, I'm convinced that a glued together all aluminum car is a deathtrap. If you weld a steel cage into it, you're basically destroying the reason to have an Elise.

Cali , now VA , if this keeps up there will be no events at all.

i know you lazy fucks wont click that link , so here , lemme post it here for you.

I recently ran across this little excerpt from a recent transcript of a meeting held among high officials in VA's legislative body:

"The conversation then turned to another problem arising in Virginia; drift racing.
The goal of drift racing is to complete a circuit course and come as close to losing
control of the car as possible, while remaining on the course. Fairfax County
recently conducted an operation to curb this form of racing but found the current
statute that authorizes law enforcement officials to confiscate the vehicles of
The Virginia Joint Commission
on Technology and Science
Delegate Joe T. May, Chair Senator John C. Watkins, Vice Chair
individuals racing was somewhat cumbersome when applied to this new type of
'racing' because the competition is based on a point system, rather than a typical
speed race. Patrick Cushing, JCOTS staff attorney, will follow-up on this
problem to further define the issue and review the appropriate section of state
code."

Apparently it's supposed to be a super stiff chassis but i'm thinking that's in relation to the car's light weight. Still i've seen s-class mercedes(full size mercedes flagship car that introduces every significant technology that all other auto manufactures follow onto btw) that have suffered accidents that look similar to that photo posted. Looks like the lotus exige may be a better structure as it does have a roof that is part of the chassis and is significantly stiffer. The evo is ultimately a far bigger car as it is a 4dr sedan! And is built of much stronger materials i'd say, the elise is a no compromise road going racer that isn't derived from a grocery getter and it shows lol, you can't have your cake and eat it too. In an elise your legs are over the front axle I believe. It's one of the few 50/50 balanced MR chassis cars I can think of. Deathtrap or not i'd still love to own one, it's still safer than comparable cars of yesteryear.
