So i picked up a 95 SE a few weeks ago and now that i've been researching up on my s14 i've come to realized that i got ripped off..kinda...i think.

My model is an SE and from my understanding; all SE's came with 5 lug. My model was one of the first ones built in 94, october to be exact, and it came with 4 lug. Now the car i bough came with a very nice set of JDM Volk rims, so i'm not complaining too much. But what the hell? Am i wrong in my reading, or did nissan change their minds mid production?

also, just for quick verification before i go buy new hubs, In order to switch over to 5 lug, i just have to replace the hubs (brakes and other shit too...).

if you already have nice rims there is no reason to get the 5 lug. the main reason to do 5 lug is for more rim choices. if you do a 5 lug you need hubs brakes wheels and other related parts. I would check your vin number and see if it is really an se or if they just put the se tag on the back

i have an SE that was converted to 4 lug. my car still has all the power stuff like sunroof, window, locks, cruise control, i forgot what else was SE. but i think also the doors and seats have a different pattern from the plain gray base models.

basically, 4 lug means you DONT HAVE AN SE.

i got my car 2 months ago (i didn't know as much as i know now) and the seller told me the S14 was a SE. (i'm guessing he didn't know what SE was probably) so i come to find out that a S14 SE has the 16" 5 lug rims, usually has accesories like fog light, lip, oh, and the spoiler. all SE comes with white gauge, a pattern on the seats and side door as well as like sway bars and stuff supposedly.

to sum up: i know for a fact that
SE: 5 lug 16", spoiler, white gauges.
usually has accesories like, fog lights, lip, sunroof

base: 4 lug 15" or steelies with hubcap, black gauges, no spoiler
usually has no accesories, no lip, no fog light, no spoiler. however, they ALL have power windows and locks.

*SPECIAL NOTE* most people have a misconception that only SE S14 came with ABS and VLSD. they also think if you have ABS you have VLSD. WRONG WRONG WRONG. my base has ABS (and i'm sure i also have vlsd but didnt get around to checking that yet). ABS and VLSD were both separate factory options and were never part of a trim level package. you might have ABS and no VLSD. you might have LSD and no ABS. you might not have either and still hav an SE.

sorry for writing a textbook but hope this cleared it up.

Your right, but there are exception. I'm canadian, and all 95+ 240's had the vlsd no matter the model. all 95 SE models built before (best guestimate)10/94 were 4 lug. check your build year and post again. My VIN states my model is an SE and i dont think jonrice was ripped off on BOTH of his. A few others on various different forums with 94 build years have 4 bolt as well.

I would like to verify this, all 95 SE owners check built year and lug count. please and report back.

I was going to say....the only S14 SEs with 4-lug are the Canadian models. A lot of base models are floating around with various stock options, since Nissan didn't have a good way of standardizing or differentiating between each trim level.

well if break down your list there, which is obviously factory information, i have a combination SE/Base. But due to the fact that i'm canadian and auto companies like to fuck with us, its all probably due to the fact that its a canadian car. I have about 80% of the SE options except:

White gauges, Variable intermittant wipers, fog lights, 5lug, rear sway bar (but i believe even in the SE this was option), the pattern on the seats (thank god) and the front/rear spoiler. i'm glad i dont have the rear, but the front would be nice.

I know not all have power windows and locks. My base S14 (96) has power windows but no power locks.
