50 miles after picking it up biglou (had already put 1k miles on it from last time i had the car..

andyc... sorry like the finer things in life ^_^
This is 50 miles from when you got your manifold replaced and all that? Damn man...stay away from sharp objects for a few days...I can't even imagine what you're going through

lol to the asshole who downrated my thread to 2 stars.... fuck jooo :p

ka25?.... erm, i think i'll pass..... .20 over is plenty larger... not to mention going larger requires a new set of pistons...... right now i only need 1 piston, most likely head work, and possibly a new block machined but i'd rather keep this as inexpensive as possible meaning replacing as few forged components as possible (pistons)

does greddy emanage control timing, i might just have to save up for haltech and a good tune for mine, that's bs though man i'd be f*ing pissed
You do know the Haltech is a [somewhat shitty] standalone and the Emanage is a piggyback, right? Two VERY different units. Get the AEM EMS if you want a standalone unit.

i feel your pain man, i had a tuner do this \/ last year on my new gt3071@15psi.
its fun to pick your car up with oil allover the windsield and watching it try to idle while they blow smoke up your ass.... now after a rebuild with forged rods/pistons, after break in (884 miles total) i have a rod bearing going bad, and the machinist is being a prick. i think its just a bad year or two.

what kind of management are you running?
your tuner must really suck ass if they 1) cant get decent power out of it to begin with and 2) to blow it up a day after they 'tuned' it.
i just finished a turbo ka and at 12psi it hangs with a known 350whp ka...used a bikirom on it and its a s14 to boot.

management = Greddy Emanage ultimate.... not many other options better than that for me due to obd-ii restrictions.

blew up the night i had it..... 50 miles after i picked it up lol.. i agree that fucking blows.

and it made decent power. 340whp and 355 ft/lbs @ 14 psi is good numbers IMO. My numbers at 8 psi are what most ppl @ ka-t.org are putting down at 10-12 psi.... cory over at ka-t.org made 340 whp @ 16 psi on a similiar setup with a AEM EMS.

what year is your car?
you could always run a 95 ecu, it supports obd2 scanning...

its a 96, and i looked into standalones such as bikirom and megasquirt but neither are supposedly passable for obd-ii emissions.

greddy emanage is pretty fucking capable anyways, it has ooodles of features :p

and yes motor #2 is going to begin machine work this monday (starting with a new motor and machining the block and head, then transfering parts from motor 1 to motor 2)

Mike over at Top Hat Performance has been incredibly helpful and accompanying in this situation. They truly take care of their customers....... 2x :thumbsup for them
