the problem with my kad n/a is that it wont run or drive right. i removed the dizzy to investigate a misfire and when i put it back in, the car started fine.

so today i drove it down the highway about 2 miles and all of a sudden it just started shaking and bogging, when i let off the gas it was fine but when i hit the gas pedal it bogged and shut down.

i had an N60 maf on it and it was fine for several days then this so i put the stock one back on and it still only runs for a few seconds then dies.

i checked the injectors for leaks and theyre ok.
someone said i need a timing light but all i did was take out the dizzy.

any suggestions?

did you put the dizzy back in exactly how you have taken it out? if not, your timing will be all sorts of fuckered up. i would suggest just reseting the timing.

i reset the timing by following procedure, swapped the N60 maf back in and it seems better but still lots of rpm travel at idle and a misfire sound.

can definately be a dirty maf or vaccum leak ill check those tomorrow. plugs smell a little bit like gas but dont look fouled.

i forgot to mention, it rained and the hood was open a few inches, maybe some water got somewhere bad through the intake?

u messed up the timing my friend. Get #1 cylinder to TDC, then get your dizzy ready. look at the gear. YOu'll see a circle shaped notch on it. You want that facing up. Then put it in. After that you'll want to whip out your timing light and check that it's at 20 BTDC.

if this is confusing then maybe get the FSM and you'll see what I'm talking about.

im pretty sure i got the timing right, it runs fine for 30 miles on the highway then as soon as i get into town it either shuts off or runs terrible, it also starts to emit lots of dark smoke when it runs bad
