has anyone on here done a ls engine swap into there 240sx and you know anywhere other than hinson supercars that sells parts for the swap and if not has anyone seen the quality of there parts

I tried to contact XATracing in FL, but they never replied. They do a turn key swap for about $11500. I just picked up my LS1 w/T56, and now I have to source the rest of the parts too. I think, 2 grand for mounts and headers is a bit excessive. My homie in CA just finished his swap, and he is going to give me some of his stuff for templates. He also does the wiring conversion, and has the hookup for the LS1 Edit.

I'm sorry but Nissan isn't the greatest... same could be said about Chevy or any other car. 11K is too much for an LS swap.. I guess turn key is about right though...

THionk... the swap in parts are going to run you above 5 grand. And what many don't really consider is the REAL going rate of labor- 65.00-85.00 bucks per hour. Then you can see where things add up.

Look, if you are compentent about swaping motors then do it yourself and save thousands. IF you can do an SR/RB swap... an LS shouldn't be an issue with the right "kits"

I'm currently in the very beginning stages of an LS2 swap. I'll eventually post pictures, prices, and how I did it in the near future for those who will be interested.

I bought a running '93 240SX hatchback for $250 and have already started stripping it out.

Summit sells the LS2 crate motors for $7,000 and the LS7 crate motors for $14,000. Also, the LS7 already has a dry sump. The LS7 also weighs a considerable amount more than the other LSx motors because of it. If that ain't enough, I don't think the sump will clear the steering rack with the Hinson Kit.

wow this thread has been brought back from the dead!

hinson is way to expensive, fab your own mounts like we're doing

Michael Peters does a good job in his Supercharged LS1 S13 Coupe...So i wouldnt mind a LS13...and besides...LS1's aren't that expensive....you just have to look in the right places...I can get a complete LS1/Tranny/ECU/Wiring for right around 4k....compare to a SR swap its double the price....but to a RB25/26....eh...i say let people do what they want...UNLESS its a Carburated 350 classic red-neck motor, lol:nono

Most of you guys are really in the dark...wake up!

I bought an entire LS1 motorset over a year ago w/ the T-56 6 speed, complete engine w/ accessories (29k miles), ECU, harness, B&M ripper shifter, driveshaft, and Z06 clutch for $2300.

Fabbed all the parts myself besides the new Carbon Fiber driveshaft (spent less than $150 on mounts) and had a 12 second car with a bone stock N/A motor. Waste of money? I beg to differ. I haven't even started to mod the damn thing yet and it ran a 12.6 @ 112 w/ a 1.9 60 ft. on it's FIRST pass ever. And, that was with a 98 LS1...the least powerful one ever produced.

hinsons price on the headers isnt that bad. a set of kooks cost me almost $1100 for my ls2 GTO..

ls2 with exhaust, cold air, and HPE cam your getting 420hp to the wheels. drop it in a 2700 pound s13 and your doing big things. just my $.02
