the guy i bought my s13 from said it had a 180sx vlsd swap in the rear how do i tell if it does asside from driving it cause it dont run right now?
how do you kno if you have a lsd rear end asside from driving it?

do a burnout and look for a set of tire marks if it has an lsd or spin a wheel and if they turn in the same direction then you do

jack up the car, spin any wheel they will both spin if it's a lsd

Yep like stated above. Jack up the rear of the car, and rotate one of the wheels (and make sure you have the ebrake disengaged and out of gear). If the wheel rotates in the same direction then it’s some kind of LSD. If the wheel spins in the opposite direction then it’s an open.

They will both spin no matter what it is.
Sliddinsil80 is correct. spin one of the wheels. If its open, they rotate in opposite directions.

They both spin but they don't spin at the same velocity, I should have been more specific and said spin the drivers side wheel and if the passenger side spun as well then you have one, but I had to run out so he kinda got a half ass post.

jack the rear up
spin one tire:
if both tires spin in the same direction, you have lsd
if they spin opposite of each other, you have an open diff
