i was poking around and i noticed an open hose that it just about touching the firewall just north of the fuel pressure regulator. It doesnt look cut, because its perfectly flat (but it is open to atmosphere) and it has a thick wall. I cant see where it goes. Does anyone know what this is or what it does?

well let me just say that
1. its a hose which i cant see the origin or where its going to
2. the vac diagram in the FSM does not show the location of the hoses in the engine bay, just the routing. so the vaccum diagram on page EC-6 is no use to me. it appears to be by the FPR and the SCVs, but i cant see anymore of the hose than what i have said.

ill get a photo as soon as my camera batteries recharge.

Thats how I figure out all of my problems and I have not really had to ask any questions.

Not to mention you have posted 2 threads asking questions and still failed to state which engine you have. Both of which I gave you advice and I am still willing to help. Adjusting igniton timing with a CPS on a KA? No, it has a distributor.

Anyway. Did you look at EC-8? That page contains a drawing of the vacuum lines.

Look by the EGR and canister control solenoid valve for a nipple not being sucked upon. Also take a better quality picture from further away if you can.

It almost looks like the hose that goes into the bottom of the EGR BPT valve, but that hose has a bigger hole in the center.

flipping through the FSM i do think it has something to do with the EGR and canister control solenoid, but to bad that valve is on the back of the engine out of view. a mirror doesnt help. i need a friggin scope that surgens use. if anyone has a clear photo of the back of a ka24de w/ hoses attached that be great help. the FSM kinda justs makes those hoses fade out in their drawings.

think i found it.

im pretty sure its the hose with the blue dot marked on it that goes to the valve circled in red. thing is there is no nipple to put the hose back on, i think i see a hole where the nipple used to be. dont know why it would be missing.
