if you are replacing 02 sensors for gas mileage, just a tip, the after-cat (post-cat) 02 sensors dont affect gas mileage, its the ones before the cat that do it...not sure how many these cars even have...But thats just a general rule of thumb Ive learned.

Well this is sad. 50/50 highway/suburb driving with a 4 cylinder and im getting 15 mpg. Not driven too hard, but not driven for optimum efficiency either. I rarely take it up to redline. Engine seems normal, don't notice any leaks/gasoline smell, etc. while im driving or stopped. It gets a little bit "raspy" when i increase the rpms but i think (hope) this is normal. Im using regular if that matters. Is this normal?
perform a basic tune-up, replace filters, and reset ecu. btw why are you getting a 3" exhaust for your n/a ka24de?

alright, i dont know what happened but im back to gettin shitty mileage. less than 15 mpg now. I figure its the exhuast so im gonna replace that and the cat and see what that does. If that doesnt work, o2 sensor. And if that doesn't work...i guess i got to get a pro to take a look :( Btw, how do you reset the ecu?

Just do the O2 sensor. Don't save it for last. its about $25 at autozone, and the install is a lot easir than you think. I just did mine with a rented o2 sensor socket from autozone.

this happened to me, it ended up being the PCV VALVE,they usually get clogged overtime and waste gas, but if you change it like 3$ but hard as FxxK to change, but yes, i was driving like 16 mpg, and i changed it and now im running 28-32 mpg CITY.

i'd change this first then spending more than 3$.....

pretty sure its the prob..

already did the pcv valve - turns out i was calculating the mileage a bit wrong - thought tank was 16 gallons till empty, but there's actually a few gallons in reserve. So i get around 20 mpg, which is just fine by me :)

I think it is better to calculate MPG by filling up to the maximum capacity of your fuel tank and then dividing the miles you went by the amount of fuel you put in. I think it is much easier on your fuel pump that way

now you get about the same mileage as my 4.6 v8 mustang lol. I havent ever gotten to do a mileage check on my 240 because the engine was very short lived in it, but Im not really concerned with mileage in that one, its more of a track car.
