The hose and pipe that comes from the cold pipe near the TB to the AIC valve was cracked on my s13 redtop, so i took it all out and replaced everything with a single hose connected from cold pipe to the AIC.

Upon a further look i saw a weird metal piece inside the hose, kinda like a reducer. the hole was the size of a pen tip.

Is this piece necessary, cause now i cant find it. And for some reason my car was at the light and it reved to 6K by itself like the pedalwas stuck or something for 10 secs, then it came back down.

Could this be the cause?

Well, I just gutted mine,, and there sure wasn't any type of beast your describing in the tubing.... of course, as i've come to learn,, the asshats who initially did the swap didn't exactly do quite everything right, so... that might not mean much.....

if you recall, was it kind of like a check-valve of sorts???

most cold pipe to iac are just random tubes found in peoples shops since the front mount never came stock. the tube u had could of been a restrictor pipe coming off and old oil return line. ive found pipes like this before that had restictors in them. just take it out and ur good.
