I am curious to know if I could remove my clutch fan and rewire the electric ac condensor fan to work constantly since it is right there. I am sure this has been asked before, but I'd like to try it if its possible.

Just because it is not impossible does not mean that it is the smart thing to do. As anyone will tell you the stock clutch fan with the fan shroud is the most efficient cooling for the 240's. Running the condensor fan would not allow your coolant to cool as well as it should. Also your condensor fan has an expected life to it which is measured in the amount of times it turns wiring it to run constantly would only shorten this life drastically. Just purchase some fans out of an altima and two black 4 pin 30amp relays or flex-a-lites with the thermostatic control if you are running ac.

^^Well if your going error i guess its better to be on the side of caution.

I don't believe you can wire the s13 to automatically control the AC condenser fan as a temperature based fan. The s14 you can though without modifying much.

I dont have a clutch fan or shroud on my my car. I use the AC fan hard wired to an interior switch for extra cooling. I have not had a single overheating issues based on using the AC fan instead of the clutch fan.

I don't have AC in my car so no having a condenser increases the airflow over my radiator. I run water wetter in my coolant and installed an aftermarket water gauge to monitor my cars temperature more closely.

Was the performance increase worth it, maybe? The car likes to rev a little bit faster and gets going a little better. My clutch fan caused my belts to squeal at high rpms so taking it out was worth it just to lose that squeal.

you have to watch whos opinion you take on this site. some people like to make this wild shit up like a your car will BLOW UP and YOULL DIE if you dont do it their way!!! YOUR CLUTCH FAN HAS A LIMITED LIFE...BLAH BLAH. Every part of every car has a limited life without exception.

^agreed.

just because the condenser fan has a 'limited life' does not mean it cant be used. i used mine to cool the radiator in my old coupe and it worked just fine. never had a single problem and sold it with the fan still working. i wired mine directly to the ignition turn-on, but there are many ways to do it.

Altima fans would be best, or some FAL fans, but its really your choice. for money savings, use the A/C condenser fan. you will be happy with the results.

Thanks for the opinions and info. I'm just trying to squeeze as much easy power out of this KA as I can until I save up for an RBxx swap. I went from a '90 300zx that I did a twin turbo swap on (320hp +/-) to this 240 and am having to adjust to the lack of kick it has compared. I'll look at the write-ups and see what to do.

I also use just my AC fan w/ a KOYO radiator and nismo thermostat. I have had no overheating problems (both in the summer and, obviously the winter), and I hard wired the AC fan into the fuel pump fuse, so it will always run with the car on. Pretty easy to do, and made it maybe a little more rev happy. However, the space it freed up in my engine bay is priceless, I was able to change my alternator from the top w/o disconnecting anything but my intake :)

I have parts of my AC still there, I removed most of the tubing, the ac core under the dash (smelled like cat piss... really... had to go ASAP), AC radiator core, and I partially removed the compressor (unplugged and the top bolts are out, then I realized I couldn't get the stupid thing out from the top of the car and gave up till next time I get it up on stands :)
