Worked on the 240 for a few hours (just over 2). Pulled the power steering stuff, pulled the A/C compressor (lines were relatively empty and low pressure).

More work to come tomorrow, mainly grinding out the crap Bondo filler I used (I'm somewhat cheap... I wanted to use what was left but realized again that I hate sanding that crap filler).

Dropped the struts.

Pulled the subframe as a whole.

Showing the relatively clean bay after using 1/3 can of Engine Gunk cleaner and a pressure washer... then dropped the subframe...

Welding the seams in the front end for track reasons

Welding continues...
Pic of a weld I put down around 30 minutes ago... I'm getting there, need some more practice for the aesthetics of the welds LOL.

Awesome build, dude! It's coming a long great! I don't live too far from York, maybe I could come out and help if needed. Keep going!
We will have to meet up sometime!

I prefer to mainly work alone at this time. I'm not only doing this build for the cars sake, but to show my "skills" and would like to do as much work as I can by myself...

Next April or May I'm having a meet in either my parents back yard, or Lower Allen or Fairview Township park. Any car will be welcome and depending on the amount of people attending will decide if we can have it in the yard / drive way or need to go to one of the parks.

Good project comming this weekend...

Cutting this in 1/2 width wise. Cutting out fender well infont of strut tower, and off to sides then cuting and shaping the 1/2s to fit. Then filling in 1 side to enclose the new wheel wells.

Started cutting in prep for the inner fenders...

Leveled the car from side to side via laying a level across the rad support and moving the stands little by little. Then picked an area in the outter corners to start the horizontal cut and then put the bottom edge of the level at that and went straight across...

3 cutoff wheels and 1.75 hours later this is the result.

50 mins later... gotta take breaks LOL

Anyhow, I cut it to fit and tacked it in up top to make templates for the sides and came up with some more ideas! New ideas = another probably ~4 hours to this project...

You will notice that I did not clean the paint from the weld zones. I will be popping the fenders back off to cut off a lip and some of the outter side for my idea... so do not worry!

I've been sick since Friday. Finally felt good enough to work on and off today.
I got the drivers side tub mostly done. Just need to do some final trimming then weld it in. The passengers side still needs the rust cut out from the lower part of the strut tower.
