I can not figure out what the hell is wrong with my friends 1991 240sx.
It starts and idles great but after 2-3 minutes of idleing it shuts off without any hesitation, bogging or sputtering. (By the way its a KA24DE). I checked for vacuum leaks, injectors are working fine, I checked fuel pump and fuel filter. I am thinking that it might be electrical. If anyone has had the same problem and fixed it please help a bro out. Thanks for any help in advance.

How's the oil pressure ? If the oil pressure goes away the oil pressure sensor shuts the fuel pump down, after 5 or 10 seconds. The sensor might be pluged or bad, or the oil pressure may so low at idle that the sensor can't detect it.

I checked the coolent temp sensor with it out of the engine and the ohms reading is 1.791 k ohms and the with the element under hot water (running hot water from the sink) and it reads .853 k ohms.

I just tried starting it and it started just fine but still died after 2 min of idling, then I tried restarting it and everything electrical went out. I could not even get my keys out until I disconnected the battery and then put jumper cables on the connections to get my key out. Before I got my key out I tried jump starting it and as soon as I put the cables on the battery post it tried starting itself. any ideas about the haunted car???lol

I just started back on my friends car again and still I am stumped. It is acting like when it reaches a certain temp something shuts off or opens up and it dies like some one turned the key off. It starts right back up but it doesn't take 4 or 5 minutes to shut off like when i first start it, after I restart it, it takes 1 or 2 minutes to cut off. any ideas would be much helpful.

Watch the O2 Sensor voltage output.. with it starts bouncing, you are in closed loop mode...

Nissan Datascan is really good for this... and many other things

I almost forgot about asking you this ... How is the output on the alternator? You said you have to jump it every time, and then after a few minutes it dies. This could be becuase the alternator can't charge the battery back up and its just cuts out. I've seen it happen before with out any hesitaton or bogging.
