That's awesome. That's also what I was thinking and was going to take a chance on working because I already have a bottom mount manifold, GT2871, and J Pipe ready. The SR downpipe should complete my exhaust setup. Thanks for the reply!
 
i was just wondering about how much can i expect to spend on a 350hp setup?
It depends on how in depth you are gonna go, if you're gonna do a lot of head work like bigger valves, bigger cam, porting & polishing, you're gonna be using much less boost then you would just boosting with a stock head.

I spent around 500 for all of my head machining and a little less for all my bottom end work and I got a hell of a deal. I bought pistons, rods, all new supertech valves, 272/272 BC cams and all of that shit was probably around 2k. im gonna be running a standalone and a GT3582R.

My point is, what do you want out of your car, cause im going for efficient power. you could just boost the stock motor and get 350hp easy, but it wont last nearly as long as a fully built motor.

Read a lot and start saving.
 
Ummm I am looking at doing an average build. Looking at everything that needs replaced or changed which might include the pistons it looks like your building a whole new engine instead of turbocharging the old one. Is that basically what you are doing or am i just looking at it wrong?
 
looking @ it wrong. Simply pulling the engine, pulling the head and swaping pistons and/or rods. Is not rebuilding an engine at all. If you do have a healthy engine though it will surley be enough to handle 300-350 hp without any problems. When replacing them though since you have the engine out and the head off go ahead and spend the extra $200 to get the arp head studs and a nice copper headgasket. you'll be glad you did. stock"bolts" suck when trying to boost at higher levels later on down the road.
 
id really like to talk to someone who boosted their ka on stock internals. i need a list of minimum amount of parts used and what upgrades to the fuel system are needed
