If you want to save money I'd say go with the redtop and source your manual parts from a junk yard, they're easy to find. I'm almost done wiring my redtop into my S14, hasn't been to hard, now let's see if I did it right :eek3dance

That's some love right there.

What are you going to use the car for, and what other plans do you have besides an SR. And go with the redtop SR, especially if your going for 350hp. The money saved can be used for a bigger turbo :)
Theres like a $200 difference between the red top cost, and black top cost..

Hey man I missed it before... You can use a 2 jaw puller to get the ball joints and tie rods off. Put the jaws of the puller on the knuckle and the screw part on the threaded ends and they pop right off. Hammering or pickle forking them will destroy the joints.

I seriously had nowhere to keep my car, so I had to do something with it. I wound up making more money than if I was to sell it. Plus I still have shit left over. My S14 pics are here if you interested.

i've seen them go different prices sometimes anywhere from 200-600 dollar difference...but i def wanna save some money for a better turbo

Wow awesome thread :) Good work and keep the pics coming. I will share some pics of my 97 project when it gets out of the body shop tomorrow. I re-painted it black, lowered and put some 18's on it like you are planning on doing ;)

Yuumai, thanks and definitely let me see the pics, hopefully within a few days i can start working on it again. what are you doing to lower it and what 18's you putting on it?

while everything is out, why not rivet the seams and get that glue crap out. You 'll stiffen up the chassis quite a bit with minimal effort and a fairly low cost.

Great record of your transformation. Keep it commin' OpenThrottle.

How much does it usually cost for a shop to do it? I don't know how to weld or any of that. But what i want to do, for right now, is to get the body/car looking good and get it running. Then i will probably tear it apart, after I get more experience, and do things like that.

Thanks, i will keep ya'll updated once i get more pics.

Damn pretty nice garage i wish i had enough space to build my self one . Keep up the work man
Thanks, its pretty sweet now i got space where i can work. it would have sucked working on the car outside in the cold.

I have the next 4 days off so i'll be helping my pops around the garage so we can finish it and i will try to get the ka out of the engine bay (hopefully) :thumbsup

Thanks guys for all the support and keeping up with the build page.
