:12dunnomy 92 240sx is an automatic. my question is would it be more beneficial to rebuild my current tranny with high performance gears or go with a jdm automatic tranny. one of my boys is telling me to go jdm and one is telling me to rebuild it and the rear-end. i'm going to be replacing my current ka24de with an ka24det that my boy has, but i want to eventually install an rb25det. so which way should i go? any opinions would/will be greatly appreciated. thankx!

yea get a 5 speed or if you are really in love with the auto just buy a used auto somewhere no point in rebuilding it when you can probably get a decent one for under 200 depending on where you live i guess. and if you are going rb25 like you say you will be changing out the tranny anyway...

If you're that in love with auto's the just rebuild it, but personally I would just do a five-speed swap. And if you're getting that KA-T from the same "boy" that was telling you to get a JDM auto trans, I would pray it doesn't take a shit right after you put it in.

i didn't know there was a ka24det ever built...
automatic??? lols... you gotta be joking... jdm automatic tranny??? if you need those JDM points go for it. best route to go is rebuilding your current tranny, hopefully its a 5-speed manual.
the only reason that im considering rebuilding the auto is because i have i solid firewall on my 240. it doesn't have the punch=out holes for the slave cylinder and i really don't feel like f**kin' with it when i already have another 240 that has a 5-speed in it already. the reason i asked the question is because the car is in too damn good a shape to get rid of it because it doesn't have a manual tranny. but thanks for your critisism any way!

look under your dash they are there you just have to drill them out but it shows you where to do it. not like my maxima where i had to guesstimate it, i got it pretty close, the pedal is only a little crooked, doesnt make driving any different tho.
